Showa University's Annual Commemoration Ceremony of Founder

On May 28th, Showa University held the 7th annual commemoration day of our founder, Dr. Shusuke Kamijo, at Kamijo Auditorium. Relatives of Dr. Kamijo, Chairman of the Board, alumni, staff, students, and others attended this ceremony.

In the morning of the event, the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Katsuji Oguchi, members of the Board of Directors, and various people in charge visited Dr. Kamijo's grave at Tama Cemetery in Fuchu City, Tokyo to offer prayers and report that everything is going well at the university.
During the commemoration ceremony, the President of Showa University, Dr. Ryohei Koide, presented three awards to this year's recipients:

1) Showa University's Kamijo Scholarship Award - Created by Dr. Kamijo on his 60th birthday, an award to recognize those had provided valuable accomplishments in the areas of research and education.

2) Showa University's Research Scholarship for Young Investigators - An award offered to graduate students and early-career faculty to encourage the next generation of academic research at our university.

3) Showa University's Student Academic Excellence Award - Awarded to the top student from each year of each school.
Later, Dr. Oguchi gave a presentation on the university's business report and business plans, and Dr. Hosoyamada, Honorary President, gave a commemorative lecture titled "Transition from Showa Medical University to Showa University".

After the commemoration, a reception was held.
