28 Dec. 2017

Showa University School of Medicine announces the conclusion of a mutual clinical training affiliation agreement its school and the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. This agreement allows for the exchange of medical students in their final years to participate in a clinical elective at UCLA.
Dr. Noriko Salamon, alumni of Showa University and current Professor of Radiology, Section Chief of Diagnostic Neuroradiology, at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, was instrumental in first organizing a meeting with UCLA. A delegation from Showa University including Dr. Ogawa (Dean of School of Medicine), Dr. Gokan (Chairman of the School of Medicine International Exchange Committee), Dr. Miyazaki (Director of the International Exchange Center) and Dr. Hashimoto (Professor of the International Exchange Center) then visited Dr. Lee Miller (Director of Global Health Education Programs and Associate Dean for Student Affairs, David Geffen School of Medicine) last summer to introduce Showa University and discuss the medical student official exchange process.
