Lecture by Professor Noriko Salamon from UCLA

28 Feb. 2018

On February 19th Dr. Noriko Salamon, alumna of Showa University and Professor of Radiology at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, gave a lecture at our Hatanodai campus. The title of her lecture was "The story of my experience living abroad: Advice for career formation" and approximately 50 students, faculty, and staff attended. Topics in her lecture included finding success in a male-dominated environment and work-life balance, important ideas for our current students, many of whom are female. After the lecture, the audience asked many questions to Dr. Salamon.
In addition, on the 20th Dr. Salamon met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Katsuji Oguchi, and President of Showa University, Dr. Ryohei Koide, and others at the President's Office.
This type of mentoring and role-modeling from our alumni serves a vital function in developing the current and next generation of medical professionals at Showa University. We are deeply grateful for the support from our community of alumni living both in Japan and overseas who work to improve our university and our student's education.
