2018 Showa University Graduation Ceremony

On March 9th, Showa University held their Graduation Ceremony at the Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall. In total, 521 students completed their studies this year.
The ceremony opened with a graduate from Senzoku Gakuin College, which has a collaborative agreement with Showa University, performing Gustav Holst's "Jupiter" on the pipe organ. During his farewell address, Preside Koide talked about the Declaration of Showa University and expressed his hope that the graduates keep their urge for lifelong learning and that they try to study every day.
During their speech, the student representatives offered words of thanks by stating that they aim to the spread Showa University's philosophy of contributing to society through absolute sincerely and dedication throughout Japan and the world.
At the ceremony, the Kamijo Award, Alumni Association Award, Kamijo Hatagaoka Award, and Best Student Instructor Award were also awarded to graduates based on their achievements while in school.
Finally, the ceremony ended with the graduates separating into their four schools (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and nursing and rehabilitation sciences) and the deans awarding diplomas to each student in their school.
