Assistant Professor Junichi Tanaka from School of Dentistry Recipient of Travel Award to International Society of Stem Cell Research (ISSCR)

Assistant Professor Junichi Tanaka from the School of Dentistry (Department of Oral Diagnostic Sciences, Division of Pathology) received a travel award by the International Society of Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) to their 2018 annual meeting in Melbourne, Australia.
Established in 2002, ISSCR is a non-profit, independent organization that aims toward the promotion of stem cell research, promotion of researchers, and dissemination of information on the foundations and application of stem cells and is considered the largest and most influential science-based organization dedicated to stem cell research.
At the annual meeting (held June 20-23), Dr. Tanaka gave a speech on the “Generation of Functional Salivary Gland Organoid from Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells” and the contents of this speech were highly evaluated and were award this time.
 

Comment from Dr. Tanaka:

 I received a travel award to the 2018 annual meeting of the International Society of Stem Cell Research (ISSCR). My topic was on 3D salivary gland organoid derived from stem cells, so it received a lot of interest from the other researchers. I am encouraged by receiving this award, and I want to continue to disseminate my research in the future.
