2018 Showa University Madagascar Cleft Lip and Palate Medical Cooperative Dispatch Report Meeting

On November 20, Showa University held the report meeting for the 2018 Madagascar Cleft Lip and Palate Medical Dispatch at Showa University Hospital clinical auditorium. 
This project started in 2011 and is now the 8th medical cooperative dispatch to Madagascar. This year, we operated on 21 cleft lip and palate patients. Over the past 8 years, the total number of operations is 172 cases.
At the report meeting, every doctor, dentist, nurse, and student who participated in the medical dispatch gave a report of their activities in Madagascar. They presented on the contents of treatment and daily life at the dispatch site, the current situation in Madagascar, etc., and gave remarks such as “I had the opportunity to review daily medical care”, “I was able to learn about differences in society and medical treatment compared to Japan”, and others. 
In addition, Mr. Shinya Yamamoto, a movie director who accompanied the team, released a 5-minute edited movie about their activities at the dispatch site. Mr. Yamamoto’s work is scheduled to be broadcasted in March at the following information:
