Using a text-to-speech service
Compatibility with text-to-speech software
This website is designed with consideration for compatibility with text-to-speech software.Using a voice browser
Use of the text-to-speech function of a voice browser will allow the section of text you select with keyboard commands to be read aloud by an artificial voice. It is a useful function for people with reduced or impaired vision when viewing the website content.Considerations given in creating this website for compatibility with text-to-speech software
- Tables and lists are laid out so that the text will be read out in correct order by the text-to-speech software.
- Use of platform-dependent characters is avoided as these characters may disrupt readout.
- All images accompany a short text that explains what the image shows so that the text can be read out by the text-to-speech software.
Note) Although this website has been created with the above described considerations, in some cases read out may not be successful where the table layout cannot be made fully compatible with the software’s read out sequence or due to the characteristics of some text-to-speech software.
