To receive care at our Emergency Center (ER)

This hospital is part of an academic medical center affiliated with a university and is designated by the national government as a Special Function Hospital to provide advanced medical services to the public.
Based on the above, our services are basically intended for people who have serious or critical medical condition and require hospitalization.

The primary purpose of our operation is to attend to the following types of patients on a 24-hours-a-day basis:
  • Patients who have a referral from another medical institution such as clinics (to receive surgery, tests or other advanced medical cares)
  • Patients who are transported to the hospital by an ambulance

Expect the following when you seek medical service at our Emergency Center (ER):
  1. Medical care provided at our Emergency Center may be different from the normal outpatient cares provided by doctors of their specific discipline or specialty during our regular consultation and treatment hours.
  2. At our Emergency Center, we attend to patients in the most appropriate order according to the urgency/criticalness of their condition. As a result of this, some patients may have to wait for longer time before receiving treatment.
  3. Our Emergency Center mainly provides emergency treatment of an illness or injury, and therefore medication prescription you receive from our Emergency Center covers only one day (or up to the next regular service day if the visit is made during or before a weekend or holiday).
  4. This hospital also serves as an education institution to provide clinical training for medical professionals. Therefore, you may in some cases be attended to by a trainee physician or may be observed by university students while you receive consultation or treatment.
  5. You may be transferred to a different medical institution immediately on the next day according to your condition, including whether or not you need a surgery.

Note that all of the above is part of our effort to make our emergency medical service available in the most effective manner to people who need it.
