School of Medicine White Coat Ceremony Held

About Us

On September 27, the 2018 School of Medicine “white coat ceremony” was held at Kamijo Auditorium. The purpose of this ceremony is to reaffirm students’ sense of morality and caring for patients at the start of their clinical practice as “student doctors”, and to renew their attitude to becoming a physician.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Professor Yoshio Ogawa, Dean of the School of Medicine, addressed the students and told them “In clinical practice from October, I hope that you will treat your patients sincerely and become student doctors who embody ‘shisei ikkan’ (our school philosophy, which means to contribute to society with absolute sincerity and dedication).”

After that, the 122 4th-year students donned brand new white coats, which were presented from the faculty, and received various information and advice about clinical training from the second-year resident representative.
