International Exchange Delegation Visit to Mahidol University

From February 14-16, a delegation from Showa University visited Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand, to discuss exchange possibilities between the schools of medicine and pharmacy. The delegation included Prof. Miki Izumi (Chairperson of the School of Medicine’s International Exchange Committee), Prof. Koji Nobe (Dean of the School of Pharmacy’s Graduate School), Prof. Hiroyuki Itabe (Chairperson of the School of Pharmacy’s International Exchange Committee), Prof. Miyuki Hashimoto (Vice Director of the International Exchange Center), and Assoc. Prof. Michael Myers (International Exchange Center). They visited Mahidol University’s two medical schools at Siriraj Hospital and Ramathibodi Hospital, where they toured the facilities and discussed student exchange opportunities. Then, they visited the Faculty of Pharmacy, where they met the dean and discussed graduate student/faculty exchange and research collaboration. Finally, the delegation visited Mahidol University’s main campus at Salaya and met with Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication. 

From this visit, Showa University is preparing to sign an university-level exchange agreement with Mahidol University as well as specific agreements with both of their medical schools and their pharmacy school.
