Exchange Agreement with Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University

On December 4, 2025, a delegation from Showa Medical University including Professor Takaaki Matsuyama, Chair of the School of Medicine International Exchange Committee, and Professor Shizuma Tsuchiya of the International Exchange Center visited the Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University (Bangkok, Thailand) to conclude an exchange agreement between our two medical schools. They were met by a delegation from the Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital that included their dean, Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, and 4 other representatives.

During the signing ceremony, Professor Matsuyama presented the new MOU to Dean Asavamongkolkul on behalf of the Dean of Showa Medical University School of Medicine, Prof. Akatsuki Kokaze, who had already signed it. Along with the signing ceremony, our delegation also toured the Siriraj Hospital complex and observed the educational setting where supervising physicians and senior residents guided medical students while discussing cases.

With this new exchange agreement in place, we have already agreed to send our first group of medical students to the Faculty of Medicine at Siriraj Hospital to undergo a clinical clerkship in spring, 2026.
